The story begins in 2005 when a guy called Stuart started a small marquee hire business in Leicestershire using the unique Capri marquees to deliver a tented structure option to clients who wanted something different to the 'standard' rectangular shaped marquees which were available at the time.
By 2009 the gradual growth of this business attracted the interest of Brian – a businessman who, already having business interests in the events market, saw the potential of the company and promptly invested in the business.
In 2010 Brian re branded the business with a name reflecting both the shape of the original Capri marquees, and the direction the business was to move in, 'funky tents'. 'Venues for hire' was also launched, enabling us to offer unique venues for our clients marquee based events.
By 2011 the company launched its range of funky furniture, lighting, bars, dance floors and accessories to complement the growing range of funky tent unique designs. In addtion we also had 14 'funky lite' 10'x10' structures designed and manufactured in black, very funky.
In 2012 we took delivery of our new Hexagonal and Diamond marquees and our in house designed marquee, the 'Trapeze'. Our own Big band and Jazz music festival was launched in conjunction with Launde Abbey www.Funky-Abbey.co.uk to great applause, this will now be an annual event with 20th July the date for the 2013 event.
2013 sees the purchase of our second Poleadion marquee (only 3 available in Europe) taking our total marquee stock to 49. We are also Launching our own wedding venue for hire, which includes marquees and a complete fit out at a fixed price.
